Free Menopause Awareness Workshops at Basingstoke Aquadrome
We recently hosted another successful menopause awareness workshop, offering free support to perimenopausal and post-menopausal women and their loved ones.
Led by Emma Tipper, a Personal Trainer and Menopause Transition Specialist at our centre, these sessions were launched in 2023 to educate and guide people through menopause-related challenges.
Supporting Women Through Education and Exercise
The workshops cover topics such as the hormonal changes during menopause, managing symptoms, and the benefits of diet and exercise. Emma explains:
"I want these workshops to support and educate. Learning about these changes helps women feel empowered and informed."
The Importance of Open Conversation
The sessions have been very popular, which reflects the significant need for this type of support. One of the most encouraging outcomes has been the open and honest discussions among the people who attend, something Emma believes is key to eliminating the stigma often associated with menopause.
Positive Feedback
Attendees have shared positive feedback, including how the information and science behind the session helped them make small but impactful changes to their diets and lifestyles. One participant shared:
“I thought the session was really good. Really useful and helpful information presented really well. I will be adopting the recommendations on diet moving forward. I particularly liked the science behind the information which helped us to understand what’s going on. For me, it felt like small changes will make a big difference.”
